Butterfree
Plan this partner in PokéBonk
This analysis describes the Caterpie League partner and its evolution line, not necessarily the current form alone.
Bonus experience and an early shield help Caterpie reach its level-8 Metapod transition. Butterfree eventually brings webs and a status cloud, so the line has more control than its first attack suggests.
Trade-off: String Shot is a slow opening, and the second evolution waits until level 36.
Passive: Metamorphosis
Ultimate progression: Silk Net / Fortress / Scale Storm
Curated kit: String Shot (Lv. 1) · Bug Bite (Lv. 2) · Gust (Lv. 4) · Bug Buzz (Lv. 7)
Later moves become eligible offers; they are not automatically equipped.
League analysis and kit: v0.8.25, checked October 23, 2026. Individual unlock checklists and linked builds carry their own source dates.
