PokéBonk Season 2 adds Storm Coast, Celestial Glacier, move fusions and Lavender Tower Night. It began on October 21, 2026; the announced season end is November 4 at 17:30 UTC. The base mechanics were checked in v0.8.46; later release notes were checked through v0.8.86. Season 2 is the season name, not a single patch version.
October 28 update: Daily Mutation adds a rotating solo Classic challenge with its own leaderboard and rewards. v0.8.60 also changes co-op Looks challenges and Bag rules.
If you are returning after Season 1, start with the new map unlocks, plan one fusion pair and check the Lab before your next run. The starter guide, Lab Budget Planner and Move Fusion Finder cover those decisions in detail.
October 27 release follow-up: that check matched v0.8.59. v0.8.56 improves clan rewards: each mission star gives up to 2,000 Stardust and a Bag item, the third adds a Bonkoin, and winning a rivalry gives 1,500 Stardust, 2 Bonkoins and a Master Ball; v0.8.58 sets season-prize eligibility at 500 points and one quarter of the average of members who scored. Check Clan → Your contribution for your own requirement. v0.8.57–0.8.59 also report solo-save, iOS 15 and Tower-exit fixes. The base Season 2 mechanics below retain their v0.8.46 evidence. Official notes.
Season 2 dates and latest checked patch
| Milestone | UTC | Beijing / China time |
|---|---|---|
| Announced Season 2 start | October 21, 2026, 16:30 | October 22, 00:30 |
| Season and Halloween event end | November 4, 2026, 17:30 | November 5, 01:30 |
| Latest release notes checked | v0.8.86, October 31 | Checked November 1 |
The developer's welcome article calls the season 15 days long. Use the explicit end time above when planning your last run; do not calculate the deadline by adding a fixed number of hours to the start. The live game's season and event panels remain the place to confirm a changed schedule.
How to unlock Storm Coast and Celestial Glacier
| New region | Unlock | Legendary encounter | What to prepare for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Storm Coast | Complete Rocky Desert | Zapdos | Changing tides, waterspouts and lightning-rod mechanics |
| Celestial Glacier | Complete Storm Coast | Articuno | Slippery lakes, blizzards and a reflected Ice Beam |
Clear the preceding region before trying to enter the next. A region visible in the menu is not the same as a region you have unlocked. For co-op, choose a map and difficulty unlocked by the whole team, as explained in the co-op guide.
The new maps add six guardians each, plus Zapdos and Articuno: 12 guardians and two legendary encounters. Their mechanics reward positioning. For example, the announcement tells players to lead Zapdos's lightning toward rods and use pillars to reflect Articuno's beam. Treat those arena objects as part of the fight, rather than trying to solve every boss with damage alone.
Move fusions and Lab changes
Season 2 introduces 106 fusion results: 79 signatures, eight reactions, 18 same-type results and MissingNo. At Bill's Machine, a ready pair becomes one attack and frees a move slot. Use the complete fusion guide for input levels, matching priority and the TM Case distinction.
Permanent progression also changed:
- Lab stat upgrades became 15% cheaper; the prices in our Lab table already include that reduction.
- Archive adds five slots per level, giving 30 base slots at level six. The v0.8.55 follow-up adds one bonus slot for every two purchased item unlocks once Archive has at least one level; the total can reach 59. See the current Archive rules.
- Item purchase prerequisites were removed from the announced 59 locked items; Stardust still pays for their unlocks.
- Precision, Swiftness, Expansion, Harmony and Big Bag joined the upgrade list.
Read what to buy first in the Lab before spending. Fourth move capacity and Fourth option still solve different problems: carrying another attack versus seeing another upgrade card.
Lavender Tower, co-op and other additions
Lavender Tower Night is a separate limited-time mode, not the fifth normal region. It has seven designed floors, an endless Beyond, Candles, event achievements and event leaderboards. Start with the Lavender Tower guide for the entry path, floor objectives and Book of Candles milestones.
Co-op has rooms for two to four trainers and its own team boards. Access is controlled by the game's beta rollout and availability state. See how to create or join a co-op room; clan membership alone does not put friends in one combat session.
Other announced additions include 24 items, five vitamins, three altars, Mega Crits, TM power-ups, Dive attacks and Pokémon Eggs. Clans gained weekly missions, rivalries, levels and up to 200 slots. Time Attack also gained season prizes. These are separate systems: a cosmetic reward, an unlocked partner, a Lab purchase and a ranked record are not interchangeable progress.
What changed after the Season 2 launch?
The launch article describes the big content drop. Later patches matter for practical instructions:
| Release | Change relevant to a guide |
|---|---|
| v0.8.24 | Archive preset management changed on mobile. |
| v0.8.26 | Tower stair and long-run fixes; Bill's Machine appears every three floors in the Beyond. |
| v0.8.27 | Wardrobe, Mastery Looks and up to six Team favorites. |
| v0.8.30–31 | Co-op rooms, invitations, team boards and revive instructions were refined. |
| v0.8.46 | Co-op returned to the classic boss/elite behavior after the preceding patch's team mechanics. |
| v0.8.79 | Fixes unfair co-op and resumed-run validation failures. |
| v0.8.80 | Adds the ready-room 60-second start countdown (later changed to 30 seconds in v0.8.85). |
| v0.8.81 | Official Windows/Linux app, improved enemy drawing and saved Archive. |
| v0.8.82 | Pre-display review, superseded by v0.8.84 immediate display. |
| v0.8.83 | Official app 1.2.0 fixes Esc leaving fullscreen. |
A guide labeled Season 2 can therefore still describe an older interface. Check reviewed release summaries and the version beside a mechanic. Our Lab caps and costs were independently rechecked for v0.8.59. Older starter, unlock, fusion and tier-list snapshots retain their own checked versions.
Is Gen 2 or Mega Evolution in Season 2?
The Season 2 announcement does not add Gen 2 or Mega Evolutions. The developer's welcome article places Gen 2 in Season 3, and the launch article defers Mega Evolutions to that later generation update. These are roadmap statements, not proof that a later feature is already playable.
Season 3 is announced, not live in this check
The developer's October 29 news article announces v0.9 / Season 3 for November 4: GEN 2, a GEN 1 and legendary rebalance, a Fusion rework, a seasonal event and four maps. The checked live version remains v0.8.86, and the notice does not specify a launch hour or time zone.
Read the Season 3 preview for the announced scope and the information still missing. The Season 2 end time above is a separate published schedule; it is not proof of a precise v0.9 rollout time. Older Mega Evolution roadmap wording does not confirm its release in this patch.
Sources and checks
Checked October 25, 2026 against the original game's English news feed, public season status and v0.8.46 release/configuration bundle. The October 20 launch article and October 21 welcome article establish the season content and announced dates; the status response identified Season 2 as live at this check. Patch summaries are our paraphrases of developer notes, not completed map, event or co-op playtests. Source methodology.
October 31 follow-up: v0.8.79–v0.8.83 announcements and current help were read in the official patch history, client and English UI. This checks the stated changes, not a completed co-op run, app installation, record review or new balance test. Older numeric snapshots keep their stated editions.
