**Open [pokebonk.com](https://pokebonk.com/) directly, let it finish loading, then check browser graphics and input settings before deleting anything.** If the game opens but runs poorly, reduce graphical load. If progress appears missing, first return to the same browser profile and guest identity.

**v0.8.85 update:** The developer reports lower memory use on iPhone, iPad and PC, plus fixes for stuck input, Tower stairs, mobile zoom and older Safari. Update or reload first; we have not independently tested every fix.

## Game not loading or showing a black screen

1. Check the original site's current status and announcements. A server or release problem needs a different fix from a browser graphics problem.
2. Reload once to load the current release. Avoid keeping several game tabs open while diagnosing which session is active.
3. Use an up-to-date browser with JavaScript and WebGL available. If WebGL cannot start, follow the game's graphics diagnostic rather than downloading a different copy.
4. Try a clean browser profile to isolate extensions only after protecting the existing account/guest access. A clean profile is a different guest identity, not a recovery method for the old one.

The current v0.8.46 notes say the game can try another graphics device and provide startup guidance when 3D fails. That is a developer-reported recovery feature, not a guarantee that every device supports the game.

## Low FPS, heavy effects or mobile lag

Open the current graphics settings, reduce quality/effect load and test the result in the original game. Current patches include an FPS-limit setting and long-run performance fixes. A lower visual load is a sensible first comparison; this guide does not claim a measured FPS gain on your phone.

On mobile, use landscape, close unnecessary background work and review the [touch-control guide](https://pokebonk.lorepond.com/guides/mobile). Avoid assuming that a browser inside another app offers the same capabilities as a full browser.

## Keyboard, camera or joystick not responding

Select the game area, close any open menu and check your current bindings. **Q** changes aim mode while **right-click** locks a target; those actions are different. An open text field can also capture typing instead of moving the partner.

If a touch device has no joystick, check the current Touch controls mode in Settings. The [complete controls guide](https://pokebonk.lorepond.com/guides/controls) and [mobile guide](https://pokebonk.lorepond.com/guides/mobile) cover the explicit settings and button options.

## Missing progress or account trouble

Guest saves depend on retaining access to the guest identity stored in that browser. Clearing site storage or moving to a different browser can lose that access. This does not establish that the underlying server record was immediately erased.

Before clearing storage, use **Save to account** if you still have the guest session and follow the actual trainer-name/password form. The [save guide](https://pokebonk.lorepond.com/guides/save-progress) explains the Keep my guest progress option and the current recovery limits. This independent wiki cannot recover, merge or edit game accounts.

## Co-op connection problems

Check that the team meets the room's map/difficulty requirements and is on a compatible current version. Follow any in-game connection diagnostic. Repeatedly changing game copies or creating accounts on unrelated domains is not a connection fix.

Read the [co-op guide](https://pokebonk.lorepond.com/guides/co-op) for room selection, invitations, revival and the current differences from solo play.

**October 26 follow-up:** v0.8.47 reports fixes for stuck movement, camera rotation after menus, closing the map and unfinished Tower floors. v0.8.53 restores missing event/news images and the Lab fourth-move icon. v0.8.48–0.8.52 also reduce server requests and relay traffic. Reload an old client before repeating those symptoms; server-side improvements do not prove a device-specific performance gain. [Official v0.8.47–0.8.55 notes](https://pokebonk.com/assets/news-DnHpGMlq-mvob1c8t.js).

**October 27 update:** if an older iPhone or iPad is stuck on Retry, v0.8.59 reports a fix for iOS 15. v0.8.57 reports a solo-save fix for browsers that do not retain data; it does not promise restoration of earlier lost results. Check the game version and keep the original guest session before clearing site data. [Official notes](https://pokebonk.com/assets/defineProperty-BNcQZwcm-mvpt1dlr.js).

## Recent save, input and room fixes

- **No attacks or damage numbers:** check H or the hidden-attacks setting before rebuilding your loadout. v0.8.77 makes the choice run-specific; v0.8.78 keeps a visible warning.
- **Only one jump per map or stuck keys:** v0.8.78 reports fixes. Update the client, restore focus and check bindings; use the pause menu's Stuck action if your position is trapped.
- **Continue fails after reload or returns fainted:** v0.8.78 reports fixes; v0.8.85 announces recovery from the latest autosave after an unexpected close. Read any age or version warning; recovery has not been independently tested.
- **Save belongs to another device:** v0.8.85 announces account-backed continuation and retry when upload is pending. The current dictionary retains an old device warning; keep the original session and follow the actual sync message before discarding anything.
- **Empty public rooms or a failed reconnect:** v0.8.77–78 improve automatic reconnection, rooms just left and abandoned rooms. Check accounts, compatible versions and the current connection message first.

These are announced fixes, not a guarantee that an earlier lost result will be restored. Follow the [save guide](https://pokebonk.lorepond.com/guides/save-progress) or [co-op guide](https://pokebonk.lorepond.com/guides/co-op) for the matching flow. ## Enemy drawing and missing ranked results

In v0.8.81, **Enemies drawn** is corrected for late long runs: **Nearby** draws the nearest **300**, **Very close** the nearest **120**, and **Shadows only** hides the ordinary models while retaining their shadows. The current help says enemies still spawn, move and hit normally, and **Bosses remain visible**. This reduces rendering, not the actual horde or its danger; it is not a measured FPS promise for your hardware.

For official-app Esc/fullscreen issues, check **application 1.2.0**, then use F11 or the fullscreen button. Do not apply an unofficial wrapper's shortcut guide to the official app.

v0.8.84 supersedes the old pre-display review: the developer says flagged runs and the best map/Global records enter the board immediately and are checked afterward, with confirmed cheating removed. Preserve result details and follow the actual in-game message if a record is missing. We have not tested leaderboard handling. ## Sources and checks

Updated October 25, 2026 from the original v0.8.46 client/UI and [official news](https://api.pokebonk.com/news?lang=en). The checks above are troubleshooting steps and reported features, not physical-device tests or a promise of account recovery. [Source methodology](https://pokebonk.lorepond.com/sources).

**October 31 follow-up:** v0.8.79–v0.8.83 announcements and current help were read in the [official patch history](https://pokebonk.com/assets/defineProperty-BxMOs4Fe-mvv70wso.js), [client](https://pokebonk.com/assets/main-BjTkSgLV-mvv70wso.js) and [English UI](https://pokebonk.com/assets/en-C4endaUq-mvv70wso.js). This checks the stated changes, not a completed co-op run, app installation, record review or new balance test. Older numeric snapshots keep their stated editions.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does Run under review mean my score is lost?

v0.8.84 announces that flagged and top map/Global results appear immediately and are reviewed afterward. A missing result or old warning needs checking against the current game.
