**Save and quit stores a supported solo run; Save to account preserves access to a guest's permanent progress.** The v0.8.85 announcement says Save and quit also copies the run to your account for continuation on another device, and retries upload when it cannot save immediately. We have not tested the transfer or offline recovery. The current UI dictionary still contains an older same-device warning; whether it can still appear is unverified. Follow the actual in-game status and keep the original session until the new device is confirmed. [Official notes](https://pokebonk.com/assets/defineProperty-BQTKr92T-mvwwqlzz.js).

The v0.8.85 notes also say build plans and Archive templates are saved to the account.

## Save and quit, then continue the run

1. In supported **solo Classic, Daily Mutation or Survival**, open pause and choose **Save and quit**. If blocked by an encounter or choice, resolve it first.
2. Wait for the save and account sync status. If upload is pending, retain the original session and allow retry; the announcement does not guarantee a successful upload without connectivity.
3. Sign in to the same account on the destination and look for **Continue**. Verify the run and its progress before clearing the original device. The snapshot includes the run build and clock; v0.8.77 also remembers the explored map.
4. v0.8.85 also announces recovery from the latest autosave after an unexpected closure. This is not a guarantee that every closed tab or old run can be recovered. Read any age, version or recovery warning.

## Saving limits and another-device messages

Co-op and Lavender Tower did not support Save and quit in the older checked client. Bosses, special encounters, capture prompts or pending upgrade choices may block saving; read the current prompt. We have not revalidated every blocker in v0.8.86.

The v0.8.85 announcement supersedes the older same-device-only rule for account-backed saves. Its current [English UI dictionary](https://pokebonk.com/assets/en-FDGTsDWC-mvwwqlzz.js) still contains the old warning; it may be stale and we have not established whether that text is displayed. If the game shows a conflicting warning, do not discard the run blindly: keep the original session, inspect sync status and use the game's support. We have not verified cross-device recovery in a live account.

## Which Archive applies when continuing?

Since **v0.8.81**, Save and quit retains **the Archive the run had when saved**. Editing the current Archive before Continue does not replace that suspended run's configuration. Make a future-run plan in [Lab](https://pokebonk.lorepond.com/guides/lab), and check the active preset before starting a new run; do not rely on changing it to retrofit an existing save.

v0.8.79 also fixes a saved run rejected when finished immediately after resuming. Read any pending-upload or result message and keep the original session. The announced restoration of some affected runs is not a general recovery promise. The earlier mode restrictions should be checked against the current game. ## Will a guest lose progress on another device?

A different browser or device does not automatically have the original guest session. Deleting the original site's stored data can also remove the credentials that identify that guest. That can leave you unable to access its progress, even though it is not proof that the server record was immediately erased.

| Situation | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| Returning in the original browser | Use the existing guest entry and check your League and Stardust. |
| Moving from PC to phone | Convert the original guest first, then sign in to that account on the phone. |
| Clearing browsing data | Preserve access first. Clearing site data is different from only removing cached images/files. |
| Private/incognito session | Do not rely on it for continued guest access after the private session closes. |
| Signed-in account on a new device | Use the same trainer name and password on the original game. |

The official retained news includes a policy that guests unused for **60 days** are deleted. Treat guest access as temporary rather than as your backup plan.

## Save the current guest to an account

1. Return to the main menu in the browser that still opens the guest you want to keep.
2. Select **Save to account**.
3. Enter a **Trainer name**, a **Password**, and the repeated password requested by the form. Supply an invitation code only if the live form requires one.
4. Complete **Create account** on the original game. Read its rules/privacy links as part of that process.
5. Check that your League, Stardust and Lab progress are the ones you intended to preserve before leaving the original browser.

The checked Save to account flow upgrades the currently authenticated guest. The separate registration screen can show **Keep my guest progress**: leave it selected if that is the progress you want. Its description says the guest's progress, runs and records pass to the new account; starting without it begins fresh.

Do this from the original guest, rather than creating an unrelated account on a second device and assuming two saves will merge. This guide does not establish a merge between existing accounts.

## Sign in on another device

Open [pokebonk.com](https://pokebonk.com/), choose **Log in**, and use the same trainer name and password. After loading, check your collection and permanent upgrades before starting a new run.

The current account form uses a **trainer name and password**, not an email address. Its own notice says it does not collect email for password recovery. Keep your credentials somewhere you can retrieve them; do not assume that an email reset or a Google sign-in option will be available.

Server maintenance, a failed request or unfinished result upload can affect what you see immediately. Return to the menu and wait for the game's save/result messages rather than repeatedly replacing sessions or clearing storage.

## My guest or account progress looks missing

- **Check the domain:** return to the original [pokebonk.com](https://pokebonk.com/). This guide at pokebonk.lorepond.com does not operate its accounts or saves.
- **Check the browser profile:** a different profile, private window or in-app browser may not share the original guest credentials.
- **Check which account you opened:** a new guest is different from your previous guest; a new registered account is not automatically a copy of another account.
- **If the original guest still opens:** use Save to account there before changing anything else.
- **If a result is still sending:** read the error or pending result state and give its retry process a chance. Do not treat a delayed display as proof that an entire save is gone.
- **If access is no longer available:** use the official game's support/community entry. We cannot promise recovery, access its database or transfer your progress.

For loading or input trouble, use [troubleshooting](https://pokebonk.lorepond.com/guides/troubleshooting) and [mobile setup](https://pokebonk.lorepond.com/guides/mobile). For progression after recovery, keep the [Lab Budget Planner](https://pokebonk.lorepond.com/tools/lab-planner) and [League unlock guide](https://pokebonk.lorepond.com/guides/unlock-pokemon) separate from your account's actual saved state: our tools do not read or back up your game account.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I continue a saved run on another device?

v0.8.85 announces that Save and quit copies the run to your account for continuation on another device, with upload retry. The current UI dictionary retains an old conflicting warning; keep the original session until sync is verified.

### Which modes support Save and quit?

Solo Classic, Daily Mutation and Survival. Co-op and Lavender Tower do not; active Bosses, events, captures or pending choices can also block saving.

### Can closing the tab create a resumable save?

Use Save and quit and confirm its sync status. v0.8.85 also announces recovery from the latest autosave after an unexpected closure, but recovery is not guaranteed.

### Can changing Archive replace a suspended run’s pool?

No. From v0.8.81 a saved run retains the Archive it had when saved. Configure later runs separately.
