**PokéBonk has browser touch controls for phones and tablets: a movement joystick on the left, camera dragging, pinch zoom and action buttons on the right.** Open the original game in your browser; no separate APK or iOS app is needed for its browser release. How smoothly it runs depends on your device and browser's WebGL support.

**October 28 update:** v0.8.60 reports fixing Android's edge-back gesture pausing the run while using the joystick and a stuck stick. We have not retested on physical devices. [Official notes](https://pokebonk.com/assets/defineProperty-CGpGi5J6-mvr5gbc0.js).

**October 26 follow-up:** v0.8.47 keeps **Not now** visible at Bill’s Machine on mobile and lets you cancel a banish. v0.8.51 adds controls in **Options → Graphics** to simplify or hide teammates’ attacks in co-op. Try these for readability; the patch notes do not establish an FPS gain on your phone. [Official v0.8.47–0.8.55 notes](https://pokebonk.com/assets/news-DnHpGMlq-mvob1c8t.js).

**October 27 update:** v0.8.59 reports that iPhone and iPad devices on iOS 15 can open the game again after being stuck on Retry. v0.8.57 also reports a solo-save fix for some browsers or tablet/app environments that do not retain data. These fixes have not been tested on a physical device here. [Official notes](https://pokebonk.com/assets/defineProperty-BNcQZwcm-mvpt1dlr.js).

For Steam Deck, AYN Thor, physical gamepads and Windows community clients, follow the [handheld setup guide](https://pokebonk.lorepond.com/guides/handhelds).

## Start PokéBonk on iPhone or Android

1. Open [pokebonk.com](https://pokebonk.com/) in an up-to-date browser.
2. Let the game and its graphics finish loading. Choose an available account or guest entry on the original site.
3. Turn the device to landscape for more space between the joystick, action buttons and play area.
4. Start with **Classic** and a map you have unlocked. Learn movement before committing to a long Survival run.
5. If you intend to keep playing, use [Save to account](https://pokebonk.lorepond.com/guides/save-progress) while you still have access to your guest session.

The current client includes iPhone-specific behavior and touch settings, but that does not establish that every iOS browser, Android device or embedded browser performs equally. If an in-app browser fails to load, try opening the same original URL in your device's normal browser.

## Where the mobile controls are

| Touch input | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Left joystick | Move your Pokémon. |
| Drag on the camera area | Turn the camera. |
| Pinch | Zoom. |
| Right-side Jump button | Jump; hold to glide when your Pokémon can fly. |
| Right-side Slide button | Slide to reposition. |
| Right-side Ultimate button | Use the Ultimate when it is ready. |
| Right-side target-lock button | Lock a target. |
| Right-side action button | Interact with the object or encounter identified by the prompt. |
| Top pause and aim controls | Open the pause interface or change aiming mode. |

Normal moves still cast automatically. Mobile play does not require tapping a separate button for every move. Use the [controls reference](https://pokebonk.lorepond.com/guides/controls) when switching between touch, keyboard and controller.

## Show the joystick and resize touch buttons

Open **Settings → Controls → Touch controls**. The current choices are:

- **Automatic:** let the game detect the input setup.
- **Touch:** force the touch interface on.
- **Keyboard and mouse:** use the desktop interface.

If Automatic is wrong on a tablet or hybrid device, choose Touch explicitly. This choice is stored on that device. With touch enabled, **Fixed joystick** keeps the movement stick at the lower left; **Button size** changes the joystick and right-side buttons together. The checked slider spans **0.70–1.50** of the normal size.

Increase size only enough to press comfortably without covering more of the fight than necessary. Camera sensitivity and camera distance live in the same Controls section. The **Auto Ultimate** option uses a charged Ultimate when enemies are nearby, reducing one manual action; it also gives up your choice of timing.

## Make the game easier to read and run

Open **Settings → Graphics** and try these changes separately:

| Setting | Practical reason to try it |
| --- | --- |
| Quality → Low | Reduce rendering load when the device struggles. |
| Battery saver | The game's description says it limits to 30 FPS and lowers resolution. |
| FPS limit | Choose a ceiling instead of asking the phone to render without a cap. |
| Opacity of my attacks | See incoming attacks through your own effects more easily. |
| Reduce flashes | Reduce full-screen flashes and bright transitions. |
| Reload graphics | Retry missing graphics without immediately reloading the whole page. |

These are options, not measured performance gains for your phone. Keep enemy warnings readable. Fullscreen behavior varies by browser, so landscape play is still useful when a browser does not provide the same fullscreen experience as desktop.

## Joystick, sound and loading problems

**No joystick:** set Touch controls to Touch, then return to the run. Check that a keyboard or controller has not left you using an interface you did not intend.

**Movement or camera feels stuck:** pause if possible, lift your fingers, close the menu and return to the game area. The official v0.8.30 notes include mobile joystick and touch-camera fixes, so an old loaded client is worth checking.

**No iPhone sound after returning:** the release notes include fixes for interrupted audio. The current client can also show an iPhone silent-mode audio option under **Settings → Sound** when the browser supports it. Do not assume the option appears on every device.

**Black screen or failed loading:** follow the [loading checklist](https://pokebonk.lorepond.com/guides/troubleshooting). Avoid using a storage-clearing step as your first fix while you rely on a guest session.
