**Source check: v0.8.46 · 2026-10-25**

[Versions, sources and scope](https://pokebonk.lorepond.com/sources)

**Use WASD or the arrow keys to move, the mouse to turn the camera, Space to jump and Shift to slide.** Your regular moves fire automatically. Press **R** for a charged Ultimate, **E** to interact, **Q** to switch auto/manual aim and **right-click** to lock a target. Q and right-click do different jobs.

**October 28 update:** v0.8.60 reports a Chinese/Japanese input-method warning and fixes to E and attacks when the input method blocks WASD. Controller L3 releases a fallen Alpha, and Select shows the map without pausing. [Official notes](https://pokebonk.com/assets/defineProperty-CGpGi5J6-mvr5gbc0.js).

**October 26 follow-up:** v0.8.47 fixes closing the map with **M**, returning with **Continue**, camera rotation after menus and stuck movement keys. Auto Ultimate displays **AUTO** when enabled. By v0.8.55, the pause menu also shows accumulated move-level bonuses; v0.8.52 adds altar rewards by zone and clearer item-damage statistics. ## PokéBonk keyboard and mouse controls

These are the v0.8.46 defaults. Your saved bindings in **Settings → Keys** take priority.

| Input | Action | When to use it |
| --- | --- | --- |
| WASD or arrow keys | Move | Keep a route out of the horde instead of standing inside it. |
| Mouse | Turn the camera | Keep the enemy or escape route in view. |
| Space | Jump | Hold it to glide when your Pokémon can fly. |
| Shift | Slide | Reposition before enemies close your route. |
| E | Interact | Use the nearby object or encounter indicated by the prompt. |
| R | Ultimate | Spend a ready Ultimate charge. |
| Right mouse button | Lock target | Select a target separately from your aiming mode. |
| Q | Auto/manual aim | Choose automatic targeting or camera-directed attacks. |
| Mouse wheel | Camera zoom | Adjust how close the camera sits. |
| M | Big map | Look for your route and points of interest. |
| T | Auto-run | Toggle forward movement for travel. |
| Y | Auto Ultimate | Toggle automatic use when charged and enemies are nearby. |
| P | Pause / request team pause | Solo pause; in co-op the whole team must accept. |
| G | Co-op signals | Hold for the wheel; tap to mark. |
| H | Attack visibility | Hide/show attacks and damage numbers for this run. |
| F / X / Z | Refresh / Skip / Banish | Control the offers on a level-up screen, when you have uses left. |

You do not need to repeatedly click an attack button for normal move casts. Your main decisions are movement, aim, upgrades and the moment to spend your Ultimate. See the [level-up guide](https://pokebonk.lorepond.com/guides/moves-and-levels) before spending Refresh, Skip or Banish.

## Signals, hidden attacks and team pause

- **G:** hold for the co-op signal wheel; tap to mark your view. The announced controller shortcut is L3, with bindings/context taking priority.
- **H:** show or hide attacks and damage numbers. v0.8.77 limits it to the current run; v0.8.78 keeps a warning on screen while hidden.
- **P in co-op:** request a team pause. Everyone must accept; the team has 5 minutes per run and resumes by everyone's vote. Your own menu alone does not freeze the team.
- **Stuck:** v0.8.77 adds this action to the pause menu. Use the game's prompt if your position is trapped.

For a controller's big map, v0.8.72 makes the action assignable in Settings → Keys, using R3 by default. v0.8.78 also fixes jumping only once per map and stuck keys. Read the active binding when old device-specific advice differs. [Official v0.8.78 history](https://pokebonk.com/assets/defineProperty-Cs0Whehj-mvtnhtpk.js).

## How to switch auto aim and manual aim

Press **Q** during a run. The game displays an auto/manual aiming message. You can also change the aiming option in **Settings → Controls**.

- **Automatic** aims at a nearby enemy selected by the game. It is a useful starting point while you learn to move and read attacks.
- **Manual** directs aim with the camera. Turn the camera toward the target you want to attack; do not assume every move becomes a mouse-click projectile.
- **Target lock** is a separate action, bound to right-click by default. Switching aim with Q is not the same as locking a particular enemy.

A move still follows its own range, shape and cast behavior. Changing aiming mode does not turn an area attack into a single-target attack or force a cast while it is unavailable.

## Change bindings and camera settings

Open **Settings → Keys**, select the action you want to change and assign the input shown by the game. The current client supports keyboard bindings and middle, right and side mouse buttons. Read the displayed binding after changing it rather than relying on a generic control list.

**Settings → Controls** contains aiming, camera sensitivity, inversion, field of view, camera distance and Ultimate options. Change one setting at a time so you can tell whether it improves your control. Use **Auto Ultimate** when you want it spent as soon as it becomes ready near enemies; leave it off when you want to choose the timing yourself.

Controller buttons can also be reassigned in **Keys**. Connect the controller and press a button to expose its settings and button guide. Button names depend on the controller layout; the on-screen guide is the right reference for that device.

## Fix controls that are not responding

1. Finish loading the run, then click or tap the game area so it has focus.
2. Close an open menu or text field before testing movement. Esc can change what screen receives the next input.
3. Check **Settings → Keys** for a custom binding, especially after changing keyboard layouts or using side mouse buttons.
4. If a tablet is showing the wrong interface, open **Settings → Controls → Touch controls** and choose **Touch** or **Keyboard and mouse** explicitly.
5. If graphics or input stop after an update, first return to the main menu and check the game's own status or error message. Protect your progress before clearing site data; the [save guide](https://pokebonk.lorepond.com/guides/save-progress) explains why.

For the left joystick, camera dragging and touch-button sizes, use the [mobile controls guide](https://pokebonk.lorepond.com/guides/mobile). For a first run rather than a control reference, start with the [beginner walkthrough](https://pokebonk.lorepond.com/guides/how-to-play).

## Official app: Display, Esc and F11

The official Windows/Linux app uses **Settings → Display** for window mode, resolution, monitor, V-Sync and graphics backend. Those app controls are separate from the browser's zoom and fullscreen behavior.

In **app 1.2.0**, announced with **game v0.8.83**, **Esc** pauses or closes a menu without leaving fullscreen. Use **F11** or the fullscreen button to leave it. If Esc still exits, check the app version as well as the loaded game version. Download through App in the original game; [desktop and handheld setup](https://pokebonk.lorepond.com/guides/handhelds) separates official and community clients.
